From the very beginning, Open for Ideas has been focused on sharing the best thinking on the entire idea process, from start to finish. We want to help everyone come up with better ideas and enable every organisation to become a fertile environment for ideas. Individual articles can only achieve so much, so we’ll be starting a new initiative in March that will allow us to explore a single topic in much more detail.
We’ll be exploring the breadth and depth of specific subjects. And we’ll be involving specialists to share their knowledge, wisdom and experiences with us. How it’ll work
Each subject will last for three months. The first two months will be focused on sharing knowledge on the site a couple of times a week. And the last month is for practical application, where we’ll be encouraging you to put the learnings into practice and even running workshops and events to help you.
We’ll continue posting articles as normal during the other weekdays. It’s all part of a grand experiment. We’ll be wanting your feedback through the process to see what you think.
Our first topic
We’re going to be kicking things off by exploring ‘Diversity and Divergency’ over March, April and May.
‘Diversity’ is obviously about encouraging people from a wide range of backgrounds into an organisation. But ‘Divergency’ is something you may not have thought about before. It’s about creating an organisational culture that embraces difference and benefits from the varied perspectives of the workforce. We’ll be covering this in a bit more detail tomorrow.
Learn from real experts
We’re currently curating an amazing group of contributors who are already doing things in the area. We’ll have HR professionals, creative leaders, campaigners, academics and business thinkers. And – as ever – we’ll be aiming to make the pieces as practical as possible, giving you tips and tools that you can apply to your own role. If you think you’ve got something to add, please get in touch and tell us what you’d like to write about.

Our next topic will be a logical follow-on. The first module is focused on helping you get the best group of people together, so the next module will be focusing on how to create the right environment for great ideas to flourish.
