Welcome to our new video series. Slip your shoes off. Make yourself at home.

A couple of months ago – while there was still a little whiff of English summer in the air – I spent a couple of days in Bournemouth interviewing some of the brilliant people at Silicon Beach. One of those is the fantastic Marcus John Henry Brown, an Englishman with Scottish ancestry who lives in Germany. He’s the guy behind Creative Walks and I ask him to tell us a little bit more about it.

It all came about after he started a weight-loss regime that involved lots of walking in the Bavarian countryside around Munich (where he lives). He discovered that he was thinking about work as he walked and coming up with better ideas. So in 2015 he started offering creative walks to his clients.

He was thinking about work as he walked and coming up with better ideas

In this interview we talk about why walks are better than office chairs for ideas.

We talk about the stages the thinking goes through over the course of a full-day hike in the Alps.

And discuss a smaller version for those who can’t get out of the office.

You can find out more at the Creative Walks website.

Discover interesting things about Marcus here.

And cyber-stalk him on Twitter.
