A couple of days ago I wrote a lengthy, scientific debunking of brainstorms. But I understand that not everyone likes to read long articles (fascinating as this one is). Some people prefer to watch short videos summarising an argument concisely.

Research has thoroughly debunked brainstorming

Well, if you fall into the latter camp, you’re in luck! The video up there is 1 minute 16 seconds of brainstorm-bashing.

It explains that research has thoroughly debunked brainstorming as an effective way of generating ideas. Getting the same number of people working independently for the same amount of time produces more ideas and more diverse ideas.

But I’m not going to tell you everything in writing. If you’re a reader, you’d be better off looking at the scientific article here.
